1. Add color

One of the best ways to lose weight and boost your health is to eat a variety of colors. Research shows that 8 in 10 Americans don’t consume the needed wide variety of fruits and vegetables. This bad habit results in weight gain and nutrient deficiency.

2. Learn about “fats”

When we see the word “fat” we think we need to run. That’s all wrong. The basic rules are

  • avoid trans fat completely
  • limit your saturated fats
  • when you use fats, use fats high in monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats

3. Cut back on salt

It takes more than just putting away the salt shaker to cut down your salt intake. It is critical to read labels… or better yet, avoid processed foods. It is shocking the amount of sodium (salt) that is added to all processed foods, especially soup.
